We start the journey from Kathmandu Valley, with its UNESCO World Heritage Site cities of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Then we drive into the mountains to Chitwan Jungles along the cascading Trishuli River below. In Chitwan, you will discover, the National Park that holds an important place in preserving the wild lives, which are rapidly getting extinct from this planet. The trip encompasses some of the most spectaculars natural, cultural, and wildlife splendors of Nepal as well as provides an opportunity to mingle with the local people with their way of life.

  • Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu,
    Check in to your Hotel (Yak and Yeti) right in the centre of the town, just off Thamel. It’s easy to get all the important sights in Kathmandu valley.

    Day 02: Pashupatinath, Bodnath and Kathmandu Durbar Square Tour,
    Today your tour visits the most important Hindu temple in the valley at Pashupatinath. It houses a sacred lingam, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat alongside Pashupatinath and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for the Hindus. After that, you drive to the Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupas in the world and the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage site. The area of Boudhnath is also famous for over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries.
    After lunch, you visit the old part of Kathmandu Durbar Square in the heart of the old city. Here is the old Royal palace, with its intricate woodcarving and four fine towers. There are several Hindu temples to house for different Hindu deities and images including the resident for Kumari, the young girl who is revered as a living Goddess from mid 18th century. You will get magnificent example of Nepali architecture from medieval period around this Durbar square. Leading away from the square in all directions are narrow alleys, full of the most amazing variety of shops and stalls.

    Day 03
    Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changu Narayan Tour,
    After breakfast, you begin another day’s sightseeing in Bhaktapur. It’s a short drive to the old city of Bhaktapur, a typical Newari town in the valley and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the medieval period, it was one of the powerful valley capitals. Still a functioning town, Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a superb place to spend few hours visiting different Pagoda style temples, monuments, museum and different streets including Pottery – this is in the East as people imagine it. It is still a very fascinating town in the valley. After that, it’s an interesting short drive to the oldest known temple in Nepal, Changu Narayan. This is the temple for Lord Vishnu, the second most important Hindu God in the country. This is an exquisite example of age-old Nepalese artistry and ingenuity.

    Day 04
    Drive to Chitwan,
    Today we leave early in the morning after breakfast and drive to Chitwan. It’s about 150 kilometers or 5 hours drive from Kathmandu. We drive westwards through valley over Chandra pass, only western gate of Kathmandu valley. From here, the Chinese built road snakes down to Naubise.We continue driving on the Prithivi high way, which is very scenic drive along Trisuli River all the way down to Chitwan. After checking into our hotel and being refreshed, our nature guide will brief you about your full nature programs. Then we head on for the activities. There will be a guided village tour and a walk on the banks of the Rapti River to watch the charming sunset views in the sub-tropical jungle. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner with cultural program by ethnic tribal people with their drums and stick dance.

    Day 05: Jungle activities in Chitwan,
    Lying at the foot of the Himalayas, amidst subtropical lowlands, Chitwan is home to a staggering array of flora and fauna, with some 450 different species of birds being recorded here, as well as tiger, rhino and Gangetic Dolphins. During our stay we will enjoy exploring the jungles and riverbanks with local guides, both on foot and (river conditions allowing) in dugout canoes. We’ll also take elephant back safaris in search of the rare one-horned rhino, possibly even getting an opportunity to join the elephants for their daily bath (early autumn and late spring trips only). Royal Chitwan National Park is Nepal’s oldest reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was once the exclusive hunting reserve for the Rana ministers. It was turned into a rhino sanctuary in 1963 and its rich alluvial flood plains and Sal forests are home to a rich array of wildlife, including striped hyena, python, monitor lizards, sloth bear, leopard and mugger crocodiles. We aim to cram, as much into our time as possible whilst we are here, but it won’t all be hard work. There will be plenty of opportunity to relax around the lodge and in the evenings, we will enjoy informative slideshows about the park and its wildlife.

    Day 06: Drive back to Kathmandu,
    If you wish to do something early in the morning, usually you can do any suitable activity - bird watching or Tharu village tour if you haven’t done so. After breakfast, you pick up your transport and drive back to Kathmandu arriving in the evening.

    Day 07: Depart Kathmandu,
    The trip ends after breakfast. You will be transferred to the airport for the flight back home.

TAAN Pokhara Chapter Explored New Trail
A team of Trekking Agencies'' Association of Nepal (TAAN) Western Regional Association Pokhara has explored a new trekking trail that starts from Kushma of Parbat and ends at Baskharka of Myagdi district.

A 17-member team led by Narayan Sapkota, former president of TAAN Pokhara, started the exploration with a drive to Kushma from Pokhara. From Kushma, the walk started toward Banau (2150 meters) through Ghumti, Bagaicha, Bhatebari, Dhakdhake and Sidhali
