Trek through the villages of the Honey Hunters of Nepal.

This trek in Annapurna region of the western Nepal Himalaya offers the best opportunity to view not only natural beauty, the real local way of life, their culture, tradition and sometime festivals. You trek through the villages of the Honey Hunters of Nepal. This is a pristine area newly opened for tourism. Apart from the stunning landscape and views of the Annapurna range, Ghalegaun offers a real opportunity to become a part of village life, lodging with local Gurung families. This area is also home to the famous honey hunters of Nepal.

Day to Day Activity
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu (1300m),
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing,
Day 03: Drive to Besisahar, 5 hrs driving and trek to Khudi,
Day 04: Trek to Ghalegaun (2016 m), 7 hrs walking,
Day 05: Trek to Ghanpokhara and Bhujun (1500 m) 2½ hrs
Day 06: Trek to Pasgaun (1825m), 5 hrs
Day 07: Trek to Pakhrikot (1600 m), 6 hrs
Day 08: Trek to Thumsikot (915m) 3hrs, Drive to Pokhara,
Day 09: Fly to Kathmandu (1300 m), 1/2 hrs
Day 10: Depart Kathmandu,

Note: You’ll only get Bed and Breakfast in Kathmandu and Pokhara. You’re on full board rest of the trip.

Itinerary
  • Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu:
    Check in to your Hotel (Yak and Yeti) right in the centre of the town,just off Thamel.It’s easy to get all the important sights in Kathmandu valley.CH

    Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu,
    Today there is a half day guided tour to visit the old part of Kathmandu Durbar Square in the heart of the old city.Here is the old Royal palace,with its intricate woodcarving and four fine towers.There’re several Hindu temples to house for different Hindu deities and images  including the resident for  Kumari, the young girl who is revered as a living Goddess from mid 18th  century.You’ll get mangnificent example of Nepali architecture from medieval period around this Durbar square.Leading away from the square in all directions are narrow alleys,full of the most amazing variety of shops and stalls.

    You’re free in the afternoon to visit the most important Hindu temple in the valley at Pashupatinath, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world at Bodnath or you may wish to visit the monkey temple at Swayambunath.CH

    Day 03-08: Drive to Beshisahar, from where you set out on the first stage of your trek-along the Marshyangdi river bank to Khudi. Trek to Ghalegaun and view Annapurna and Manaslu at sunset with experiencing Lodging and evening cultural program performed by Gurung families. Visit Ghanpokhara, traditional Gurung village before descending for the short trek to Bhujung. This is a large, traditional Gurung village amid waterfalls and rhododendron forest, climb to Khumre Danda (2000m) to Pasgaun. Visit the Buddhists Gompa and learn traditional songs and dances with evening cultural shows, descend to the Mandi River and the roadway to Thumsikot. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. The serenity of the lakes and the magnificence of the Himalaya rising behind them create the ambiance that has made Pokhara such a popular place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. BL

    Days 09: Fly back Kathmandu
    You’ll have few hours to see Pokhara valley in the morning.It’s just a half an hour scenic flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara.You’ll get good view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and Ganesh Himal from the left on the plane.CH

    Day 10: Depart Kathmandu
    You’ll be transferred to the airport for the flight back home.

TAAN Pokhara Chapter Explored New Trail
A team of Trekking Agencies'' Association of Nepal (TAAN) Western Regional Association Pokhara has explored a new trekking trail that starts from Kushma of Parbat and ends at Baskharka of Myagdi district.

A 17-member team led by Narayan Sapkota, former president of TAAN Pokhara, started the exploration with a drive to Kushma from Pokhara. From Kushma, the walk started toward Banau (2150 meters) through Ghumti, Bagaicha, Bhatebari, Dhakdhake and Sidhali
